Marcia Gay Harden

Marcia Gay Harden, born August 14, 1959 in La Jolla (California), was the third daughter of five. Beverly Bushfield was her mother and Thad Harden, who was in military service, was the father. Family members moved often. When they lived in Greece her interest grew in theater, and she attended Athens productions. Harden started her education at American universities in Europe and returned to the US to pursue her education in the University of Texas in 1983 after which she earned an MFA at NYU, and, thereafter was able to begin her acting career. Her previous roles included the film in 1986, The Imagemaker, but her first role as a principal was in Miller's Crossing, the Coen Brothers funny, humorous tribute to the gangster genre. Harden was praised by critics for her stunning performance as Verna. Harden then continued to perform consistently in supporting roles, including her portrayal as Ava Gardner in Sinatra (1992) the biopic for television on Frank Sinatra. Marcia Marcia Marcia
