Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. Following the time her father's departure from the family members, she was grew up by her mother godparents and grandmother. Ford was suffering from anxiety disorder based on the word association when she was a teenager. Ford was interested in the field of acting during her teens and was a part of the National Youth Theatre. She got into the Sylvia Young Theatre School. After just a few weeks, she realized it was not the right fit for her. Ford rather applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama and was able to secure a place on her fourth attempt. One of her classmates was Shaun Dingwall, who would play a part in the role of Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford completed her degree in 1993 however, by that time she was already making her television debut in an episode from 1991 from Surgical Spirit; she adopted the name of her professional "Catherine Tate". Tate was a part of such TV shows such as The Bill, Men Behaving Badly, and London Burning. Alongside her usual theatre work, Tate joined in the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2000-2001. However, Tate was soon gaining attention for her stand-up comic that she incorporated into her resume in the year 1996.
