Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous songs that dealt with racial identity and sexuality with the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical encounter. She was a trumpet player. She also received classical and jazz training later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. In college, she studied writing and women's studies. In addition, she spent an hour studying Mandarin during her time in Beijing. It wasn't until after graduating when she decided to turn her attention towards music. After becoming famous on the Internet, her song My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks, such as body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$. The single that debuted was directly connected to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her 2015 travel guide. Her resume included both musicians and an author. She was now looking for a new career path in acting. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough performances included Dude Ocean's 8, along with Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
