LeBron Raymone James Sr., born December 30, 1984 is an American professional basketball player who represents the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA). He is known for his role as King James and is considered as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. James won two Olympic gold medals as well as four NBA championships. James is the NBA All-Star with the most playoff points, with the second most points in his career total, and the seventh highest ever assist number. James is the NBA All-Star has made the All-NBA Team 18 times, a record. James was also named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team 5 times. In total, he has played in more than 10 NBA Finals, the third-most ever. This includes eight straight between 2011-2018. James was chosen to be part of the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team for 2021. He became the NBA's first player to score 10,000 points, rebounds and assist in 2022. James was a basketball player for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School within his hometown from Akron Ohio and was heavily in the news media for his potential as an NBA star. In 2003, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the top pick in the NBA draft in 2003. He was named the 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year He quickly established himself as one of the league's premier players winning an NBA MVP Award in 2010 and 2009. James signed a free-agent contract following his failure to earn championships in Cleveland. He made the decision to leave Cleveland for Miami Heat, announced on the television show The Decision, is considered as one of the most controversial free-agent decisions in the history of sports.
